Hi,

I had virgin tv installed yesterday with a new v6 box. The problem 'im currently experiencing is that i'm getting hdcp 2.2 compliant error when i connect the v6 to my denon Avr x2300 which is hdcp 2.2 compliant. Here my set up.

LG TV 50UH635V
DENON RECEIVER X2300
OPTOMA HD 25E PROJECTOR.

A single hdmi cable is running from the back of my tv to a hdmi splitter box - output port.

The Hdmi cable for my projector is connected to the second output port of the splitter box.

A hdmi cable is connected to the input port of the splitter box which is connected to the output port of the AVR.

When i select cable through the avr i get the hdcp 2.2 ERROR. However when i connect the v6 box straight to the tv it works but its not any good for me as their no sound from my surround sound.

This is a pain in the freaking backside.

Any ideas on how i can resolve this please???

I would like to watch the v6 content on my projector. The setup above was working flawlessly with my old sky plus box.

Some splitters are supposed to strip the hdcp from the signal. Have you tried splitting the hdmi before the avr? May be worth a try?

If a splitter could strip the hdcp from the signal then surely this idea would just strip the hdcp from the V6 box. There is obviously a reason why you are using a splitter, but as a test could you not move the tv closer to the amp and plug it directly into the output?

Hi mate. Thanks for the tip it works. I was trying all sorts of things yesterday but hadn't tried what you suggested. I have two splitter boxes now but i can live with it. Whats the point of this copy protection apart from it being pain in the backside.

Its a pain in the ass when you can simply bypass the protection with a splitter. All is working well now.
