Hi guys I have just run a cat5 cable to my bedroom and fit a hdmi over cat5 adaptor kit which is working great. I just need a hdmi splitter now.

I have been looking around and have seen loads ranging from £2.99 up to £80 . Am I missing something here? If it supports 4k and 3d what is the difference?

Does anyone use a hdmi splitter that they could recommend or explain why I shouldn't pick up a £2.99 splitter.

Thanks

I use >one of these cheapies < to feed an old xbox 360 to monitor and tv at same time and it words a tweet at 1080p. Don't think it'll go any higher though

As long as it lists HDCP support, you should be fine.

I bought a £2.39 one off of amazon that will take up to 3 weeks to arrive from our friends in China.

I saw your post so I have ordered from the link you gave me cheers.

I will compare them when they arrive. Hopefully I will have a spare rather than some space taken up in my bin.

Thanks

Personally I would use an active splitter as I've had past problems with passive over a long cable run, they dont cost much more.

You do know that are now a range of HDMI over Cat5E/6 extenders that now also include a loop out HDMI on the transmitter part which gets rid of the HDMI splitter and 1 less HDMI you have to use.

Been using these now for some time Labgear Brand

That would have been perfect but would have quadrupled what I have paid.

Hdmi over single cat5 with I.r £25
Hdmi splitter £6 odd

Just had a look for the unit you described and it's well over £100 unless you know of a cheaper place?

Thanks

For some reason Labgear dont have the actual product on there website the nearest i could find is this:

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

This is where i get some trade gear from and they will sell to the public at a branch, i think they are around £50 + VAT or there abouts

it would have been better but i will be happy as long as the splitter is ok and i have saved a few quid. I used to use grax a fair bit a while ago but my login doesnt work anymore for some reason. not a bad shop for that sort of stuff.

I tend to stick to the neet brand on amazon very good quality and great customer service too.
