My setup until recently was

Vu solo2
Pioneer sc-lx81 amp
Pioneer pdp-lx5090 TV

I have had an update and now have purchased

Denon avr-x3100w amp
Panasonic tx-55ax902b TV

I cannot get my solo2 to work on the TV. If I connect it via the Denon I get nothing but a black screen. If I connect it direct to TV I get exactly the same. For some reason when connected via the pioneer amp it works fine.

I've tried various different hdmi leads and makes no difference. If I connect my clone solo2 from the bedroom to the TV that works fine. Any ideas what is causing it? Surely they can't just be incompatible can they?

Are you using the HDMI CEC plugin on the Vu Solo2 if so try turning it off and see how you go on, Also is the AMP switched on or are you using the Passthrough feature while in standby and lastly is the Panasonic set to use CEC in the main menu

On the solo2 the hdmi-cec is turned off. On the TV there isn't a setting labeled that exactly but I have been right through the menus and tried all different settigns available with no luck. As far as the passthrough is concerned on the old amp it works using either way. on the new amp It does not work either way. That said as I mentioned previously If the solo2 is connected direct to TV it still does not work.

Its all very strange really ..

Could you connect it up another way rather than HDMI, just to the television? Just to check it, sounds like the wrong display setting on the box could be causing this. Just going off trying to use consoles on different Telly's.

After doing some research apparently this is not an isolated incident with Satellite receivers and the new range of Panasonic LED/LCD etc...

Just out of curiosity what image is on the Non clone Solo2 to the Clone Solo2 this could have a bearing on the issue

Havnt tried but im sure it would output via scart fine. As for output settings I have tried every resolution setting available but no result :(

They are both openvix appollo images so I doubt that would be related although one is build 029 and the other is the last build (something like 166 I think)

Interesting you say it seems others with same issues. Where did you find them can I ask? If that the case I guess Im gonna have to get on to panasonic

I Just did a quick google search and problems appeared mainly with the Blackhole image and HDMI problems, It just seems strange that the Clone Solo2 is working 100% and your original is not.

Both HDMI's are powered one inside the Sat receiver and One inside the TV (Thats why you never Plug & UnPlug HDMI while both devices are On) so it looks like some data is not being sent through the cable somehow.

Personally i would try another image first after you back your up just to see if the problem persists

Well I've now tried various different images all with same result so I guess it is just an incompatibility on a hardware level. If that's the case I'm gonna get in touch with Panasonic as I don't expect to get these problems when I spent 2 grand on a TV.

I've also had lip sync issues of varying levels depending on what channel is watched on the solo2 which I found quite bizarre

If I read this correct your clone solo 2 works fine with really old image but your original solo 2 with newer image doesn't?

If that's true and both boxes are connected to same amp and TV with same leads then have you tried old clone image on your original box using image backup and restore
