Hi all im looking at getting a new TV and was looking for some suggestions i want at least a 50" screen. i don't care if its smart or 4k im more interested in picture quality so id happily get a really good 1080p over a mediocre 4k my budget is between £600-£1000.

has anyone got any suggestions as to what TV to buy?

thanks.

If HD picture quality is your main concern, I wouldn't look any further than a Panasonic tbh.

No doubt you'll get a lot of other opinions on that though. :)

I went with a cheap no name 55 for £479 and love the quality but others will probably see it different, best bet is to go to a store and cheap different ones and then look for best price online or in stores

Panasonic for me also

Looking at the reviews the Samsung has sound issues.looking at the Panasonic it has picture issues. As stated have a look at both of them working and judge for yourself. They are both good Tv's though.

I just bought SAMSUNG UE55H6400 and its really good. Good picture and sound is fine. Out all reviews that seems to be its weakness point but I cant fault it.

I had lg-49UB850V for 2 weeks and sent it back as the DSE & clouding was horrific.

The above samsung suffers from no noticeable clouding or DSE banding.

4k is pointless the now tbh and isn't that great unless your right up close
