samsung smart tv problem

My Samsung smart tv wont connect to the internet. it connects to the router but not to the net. Have phoned isp but it appears to be a Samsung issue. The strange thing is it connects to its own server and downloads the latest firmware. Anyone else had this or anyone know of a fix. I have tried it wired as well and get same issues

what ISP Ian. is it your own router or ISP supplied router

take out the wireless encription altogether and leave network open for a minute , see if it connect then, if it does change your encription on router and tv to WPA TKIP,

Sky hub mate. It was working fine until a few days ago. I tried 8844 and 8888 but still nothing.

im sure the encryption is set at that but I thought encryption was only for wireless
It wont work wired either mate

HMMM Wonder if this is the problem . might just hang on for a few days see if it sorts its self out. Mines is an E series.

Ok ive found out its definetly a Samsung problem and they are working on it. The problem is global. I hav just read about 50 odd posts on a cnet Samsung board all having the exact same problem. Some have got round it by setting a dns up on their laptop and spoofing the address in the tv settings. A bit over my head lol so I will just wait for Samsung to fix it

Looks like Samsung have sorted their server out . back on line now

Have you tried Samsung support? Im a service tech and have read on their site about this issue.Wasnt what I was looking for so just kept reading.
They are helpful when contacted.
I have not encountered this issue as yet but Im sure I will. Interesting ??? Connects with no browsing function.

Could be the old firmware didnt get deleted, You can check the menue to see what version is listed and go from there.
