looking at a sound bar without the sub

anyone know of a good sound bar?

must work with tv remote

all suggestions welcome

Ive been looking at these myself today Erbs :)

Ive been looking at the Sharp range, mainly as I have a Sharp TV
I'll be keeping tabs on this thread too :)

I have a Samsung one with a Bluetooth subwoofer. Also has Bluetooth connection for music from phone etc. Nice and punchy sound but if you knock the sub woofer off the sound is shit, so be wary of bars without a sub

What you think the best sound bar built in or seperate sub for a lg smart around £100 as the sounds not great bit rumbley even more so in high volume

OK been doing some research and bearing in mind i just want more clarity on my TV as my new led Panasonic TV speakers are not that good as the panel width is very slim so speakers are not that good

This is what i am going to be getting and its had very positive reviews

jbl sb200 sound bar at £199

Hi, my step-son has been looking at getting a sound bar,
anyone know if one exists with at two digital optical inputs (all our local stores seem to have models with only one)?
He would like to set up for his game console and set top box without having to constantly unplug and switch over.
Thanks,

Rob

I was looking at this setup Roth Bar1

or waiting a bit until the Bar 3 drops in price

Sonos sound bar with two sonos wireless speakers for back surround is awesome :)

Being as they are so cheap @Mick I thought you could treat me to this set up ?
How Much :Yikes:

you say that @Rat ;)

But you can take each of them Play3's and put them in separate rooms and you then have 3 music zones.

1 bedroom with sonos music (play3)
1 kitchen with sonos music (play3)
1 living room with front surround and music with the sonos bar (sound bar)

you can stream music to each, it takes away the need for docks, can be an alarm clock, radio (internet with 1000's of stations), play multi room sound from each in perfect sync.

Sonos devices stream your playlists from android and iphones without the need to dock them ;) (i do not think people realise the massive deal maker this is lol)

OR put them together and you have a 5.1 wireless sound system - and also all the above ;)

Yeah I was reading mate it certainly is a pukka set up :)

but no way I could justify that amount of money unfortunately

The way I do it is all devices to tv via hdmi then optical out from the tv to the sound bar.
If your tv has an optical output then thats an easy option ;)

I have an LG TV with an LG speaker set (looked and researched ages for a soundbar but ended up with pod speakers to cut down on clutter), but anyway the way IanB suggests is the way I have ours and it works superb, HDMI into TV then optical to external sound (soundbar in your case).

As its all LG (apart from console !) its all on one remote n all.

:)

EDIT: this is what I got but it was about 3 yrs ago now so things will be much better now I imagine....

Review : LG HT32S Home Cinema System

Thanks guys :Biggrin2:
Just checked the back of his TV (fighting through cables and dust) and there is a Digital out!
That save some cash.
ps...sorry op to have hi-jacked this thread a bit :blushing:

is it a learning remote? so you don't have to use the remote that comes with the sound bar

or do you have to use the remote that comes with it?

I only used the remote with the soundbar when i got it.

Now I just use my set top box remote.
