were these speakers worth the money?

I use my yamaha 6.1 amp with a pair of Eltax Liberty 5's with a Gale monitor centre speaker and a pair of Gale monitor bi-polar speakers as rear, with my Wharfdale passive subwoofer all works nicely together, you can't go far wrong with them, very good value for money in my opinion

How do they sound? Well for £37 for a pair of monitors and a sub you can't really go wrong.

Have a play around with the positioning of the speakers to see if it makes any audible difference (if the wife lets you of course). Moving the sub around the room can really make a big difference to the sound that you hear.

It's a pair of monitors and a centre.

Sound great, better than what I had anyway.

The Yamaha sub will do for now, looking for a pair of rear surround then maybe a new sub and when the piggy bank is full have my eye on a Onkyo 308.

I thought sub bass was NDS sound so it should not matter where it is, or am I sadly mistaken (it would'nt be the first time :) )

Well it is non directional but by moving it around the room it is possible to reduce bass boom, placement has a kind of EQ effect. Play something with loads of bass and shift the sub a foot in either direction, I'm pretty certain you'll hear some differences.

Play [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-BXKtpO-rc"]this[/ame], not too loud though as the source is crap and it could damage your speakers.
