under i**digital on this forum some guy claims he has programmed software that can detect non subscriber cards and lock the box. I hope i am not scaremongering but I just wondered as to the technical feasibility of it. Can anyone shed any light pls?<br />he posted the following -
cant get into to much detial, But what it does is that Pirate Cards and Originals are completly diff, Basically, it detects the pirate card, Attempts to disable the card (providing its not read only) And also shut down the box, The only way i found out to unlock it was making use of the serial port at the back of the STB, I designed a seperate Windows program to unlock the box, No Decoder card can disable it, You would have to send the STB back to ONdigital to reactivate it, And which means they could charge you a fee for reactivating it.
