I replaced the battery in my sons iphone 5 with one of these gold ones off eBay that hold more charge but after I did it every time he touches the keypad say to unlock it it just reboots.
It's fine when it's on charge he can use the phone but as soon as he takes it off charge it starts off in a reboot cycle
Anyone had this ?

I did mate on a 5 turned out to be a crap battery supplied supplier even sent me another but it was the same.

Went with a second hand genuine battery after that and it was fine from then on.

Thanks , it's looking that way because when I put his old one back in it worked fine.

The Mrs was recently given one of these Iphone 5's and after messing about getting it unlocked for 3, it started
becoming temperamental about charging, then stopped working all together. My question is, should it still work off the charger even with a duff battery (I would of expected it to). Is it worth trying a new battery, or is more likely the lightening port.

If the the phone bat contact is faulty sneaker it prob wont boot.
I would get a good battery 1st mate then check the port.
I have a bat here which is new from alixpress and i use them all the time.
Bats from bay are pure rubbish m8 stay away.
I have a usb tester which plugs into iphone and into lihgting cable.
It gives you acurate readings of what is going in and out from phone.
Cost 4.00 from ali.

A quick word of warning to anyone taking an iPhone apart. Be very carefull when snapping it back together as the screen is very delicate indeed. I changed the charger port for a friend and when i pressed the screen back into the phone, i turned it over and it looked like someone had given it a crack with a toffee hammer. lol
