iPhone Iphone 5 locked to icloud

I bought a faulty iPhone 5 from eBay. I replaced the display and the rear panel and phone works but its locked to an iCloud account. I tried putting into dfu mode and restoring through iTunes. Its still asking for password even though i restored..

Ive also contacted the seller four times but no reply, can't believe this, is there anything else i can do?

Unless the owner of the email address logs into their iCloud account and removes the device from it - it's a door stop.

there is NO WAY to get around the activation lock. 100% no way no matter what people say.

What needs to be replaced in the phone to remove it.

nothing can be replaced to unlock it.........

Baseband memory IC
Flash IC

iCloud info is spread across these 3 chips

But they are ubga chips

So quite hard to replace

Yes under the rf shields
And some of them have a black putty round the chip and under it so if u not carefull u can rip the pads off too

do u have seller email on ebay if so you need ring up ebay an tell them that the phone you got off him may be doggie

can you check ime number see if it lost

Im currently in a paypal dispute so hopefully ill get my money back. Yes I'm aware it could have been stolen but the imei number has been checked and is ok...
