iOS 6.1.3 tethered jailbreak can be done with Redsn0w version 0.9.15b3, but evasi0n jailbreakers may have to wait a little longer. David Wang, one of the hacking programmers who developed the evasi0n tool, is skipping this stage in the Apple update for the next major OS iteration.

In its notification to users, Apple says iOS 6.1.3 "fixes a bug that could allow someone to bypass the passcode and access the Phone app." For users in Japan, this same update carries with it some "improvements to Maps in Japan."

Apple notes it has fixed six bugs in its latest iOS iteration. Forbes reported the tech giant credits evasi0n hackers for spotting the bugs. Nearly 18 million device owners have turned to evasi0n to jailbreak their iOS gadgets. Now iOS 6.1.3 has blocked the evad3rs' latest tool. But Wang is not worried.

David Wang, evad3r: 'We'll probably wait until the next major release'

In an interview with Forbes, Wang confirmed Apple has yet to fix at least one more bug that was used to develop the evasi0n tool. This means the popular team of evad3rs can still jailbreak the latest iOS restrictions. However, Wang says they'd rather wait this one out.

"We'll probably wait until the next major release," Wang said. Jailbreakers would also like to fix the lockscreen vulnerability for jailbroken Apple devices. Jailbreaking users have sounded off their support of the evad3rs plan to wait for the next update, keeping the iOS 7 in mind.

N.B.The new patch allows users to jailbreak iOS 6.1.3 on Pre-A5 iDevices: iPhone 4 (GSM and CMDA models), iPhone 3GS, and iPad touch 4th generation. The patch still requires tethering for full functionality after boot, and newer Apple devices (iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad Mini, iPad touch 5, iPad 4 with A6X chip and Retina Display, iPad 3 and iPad 2) can't be jailbroken for now.
