hi mate if Recovery mode , when you open itunes a box will appear and tell you ,download the ipsw from Here for your device, once you have that open itunes up again and as you hit restore click shift , a windows box will appear browse to the ipsw file you have downloaded and away you go , that error you are getting 3194, i got also there is a fix and it works , have a look Here

hi mate thanks for reply...ive just tried that method and it sends the screen white then comes up error 1601 and phone stays white.. what am i doing wrong... when i unchecked hosts in umbrella do i run umbrella before itune and do i click start tss server or do i just run itunes..

Can you restore to stock firmware after you have used redsn0w? I haven't changed the baseband I am currently on 4.2.1 stuck on restoring the iphone because cydia did not work even after doing a patch, I couldn't even read my email or go on the web with it.
Sorry to Hijack the thread but it's doing my freakin head in lol.

Cheers,
JohnO

Thnx m8,will try it later. Just 1 more thing please is there a difference when it says a custom restore to a normal restore.

yes mate there is, a custom restore , is a custom made ipsw file , sn0wbreeze allows you to create a custom ispw , a normal restore is something you do through itunes as is an original ipsw

so before i restore i need to do a custom 1 with redsnow.ive tried but its stuck on your device needs to reboot and my device wont to be honest

so i think i cant really do anything else then as my fone will not reboot to finish the process which i need to restore with itunes...gutted

hi mate When you’re jailbreaking your iPhone using redsn0w, if your iPhone screen is dead (blank or black screen) and the redsn0w is showing waiting for reboot, you need to put your iPhone back to normal mode (not DFU or recovery mode) and rejailbreak it again.

Put iPhone to normal mode – You should disconnect the iPhone from your computer first, and then hold both sleep or wake and home buttons together for few seconds and release both buttons when you see Apple logo on the iPhone screen. Once reboot done, you will see the familiar slide to unlock screen or slide for emergency calls screen on your iPhone.

Rejailbreak Apple iPhone – You should rejailbreak your iPhone again from the first step. Now, close the redsn0w if it’s still running on your computer and launch the redsn0w to jailbreak your iPhone.

I can't put in normal mode if press power off button it come back on with USB and iTunes logo. And that's it think it's proper fooked to be honest. And wasn't jailbreakung just wanted to get it back to normal so my lad cud use it as ipod

all sorted in end i took it to a bloke who fixes all apples and he updated it to 4.3.3 in less than 5 mins i couldnt believe it so thanks for all your help lads...... now i wonder if i dare attempt to jailbreak it lol .... thanx again
