iPhone how do i install apps on jail broken iphone 3gs?

how do i install apps on jail broken iphone 3gs? ive jailbroken and installed cydia. but i cant figure out how to install apps ive got sum i dl earlier but it jus says unkown error wen i try to install using itunes.

2nd'ed best app out at the min beats cydia hands down... all installed from your handset, no downloading to pc and transferring across ect... just down load on your handset and away you go (cydia does this too) but hackulous seems to have better apps, cydia seems quite poor for apps i wanted.

just put tom tom on mine a few days ago, didnt need it as i have sat nav but thought why not lets have a look.
