iPhone Getting an iphone, few questions

Hey fellas
Getting an iphone asap, just got a few questions.

Does jailbreaking unlock the phone? as i want to use it on tmobile?
Can i jailbreak and then use the tom tom app? do i need any extra hardware?
What apps would you guys reccomend?

Hi m8 Blackra1n is what u need to jailbreak and once you jailbreak u choose to install cydia/rock and you also have an option to install sn0w which will unlock your iphone. sweet cheers mate! does tomtom work via the 3g signal? do you need any other hardware like a gps reciever or can u use the one on the fone?

All you need is to install it and volia, it picks you up really fast too as soon as u start it, i compared it to my actual tomtom and its its miles faster. It must use the 3g, edge or data connection when its available but when it isnt i presume it uses gps.

sounds good! thanks for the help mate. whats the battery life like on them? coz my ipod touch lasts days. and is it true that if the battery runs out on the new iphones you have to re-jailbreak?

Totally depends on what u use it for tbh m8 u can get some apps that tell you how long your current battery life will be if you play music, web browse etc. You can get more battery life by not using 3g as much like only turning it on when you need it, i have a car charger for mine just to keep the battery going. Thats new to me about having to re-jailbreak, mine ran out when i was out on Friday night and i didnt have to do it again yesterday

duno where id read that, may not be true lol have to wait til after xmas to get one deliviered then its time to play lol. cheers mate. any more apps ud reccomend?

old ones you dont need to re jail break but the new iphone 3gs with the latest bootloaders on need re breaking everytime the phone switches of not sure if there is a fix for this yet tho

yeh itl be a new one. is it a simple job jailbreaking them like?

forgot about that coz mine is a 3gs with the older bootloader, its simple m8 just load blakra1n and click make it rain. Your phone will reboot and be jailbroken takes about 30 secs. Then you will have the blackrain app on the phone youhave to go in there ad install cydia, rock and snow. best way to avoid this if you do end up with a new 1 is not let the battery run out (obv lol)

yeah il try, but with my current phone (tmobile g1) the battery doesnt last a full day, so i was wondering if the iphone would last? ill be using it for txting, email, listening to music, and the occasional app. when im using tomtom itl be plugged in

OH yeah how true this is i dont know what i did before my iphone its everything at once mind u i dont know if id say this if i could not jailbreak

battery not that good on the iphone either really
