Hi, impossible?
Can you jailbreak ipods\pads\phones which are icloud locked or is this not possible?

I don't believe it is possible mate but I'm going to subscribe to the thread to see if anyone can confirm it is.

Haha I don't need to read that to know what it means [emoji14] My question was a polite way of finding out if it had been stolen which it probably has been on probability lol

Not necessarily.... I was just looking on eBay at iPads which have broken screens and some are iCloud locked. I wouldn't have a problem replacing the screen but if you cant get around the iCloud lock then they are pointless.

So don't always assume :OP

Just because you're buying off eBay doesn't mean it isn't stolen. Don't always assume [emoji14]

Yet.......... on the other hand

So which one is it @t3rminal?, should we assume or unassume? You're clearly confused as to which one. The use of probably and probability in the same sentence is also a gross misuse of the English language...probably in all probability but perhaps may possibly be possible. :proud:

You can buy icloud chips of aliexpress m8.
Some ipads are only one chip.
The last time i looked ipad 2 chip 16gig was only 10.00.
You would need a hot air or infrared machine and decent flux.

Besides the equipment and the skills would you not also have to "marry" the chip to the logic board? Scratch that, just remembered you mentioned one-chip. Even so, wouldn't the chips' ID have to be recognised in iTunes?

Chookey i think they program the chip for you ie imei no etc.
On some ipads and phones there is 2-3 chips to but.

Hey I'm interested in this too. Now the ipad i have was in lost and found in a place i used to work for. The contact number on the icloud never worked. We always contact the police and say if anyone is looking for the items we find and give them serials. No-one ever came forward, after a year I was told to recycle them. I kept the ipad as i thought I could fix a friends screen with it.

Long story short, Still got the icloud locked ipad and still in perfect condition apart from it being locked. So no not stolen, Just never recovered by the owner!

Looked up aliexpress and I don't think i could solder this :-(

Also most of the things like this i have tried:
http://cydiaremove.com/ios-9-1-remove-icloud-lock/#.WFBEsXOkRf0

and most never worked or looked like it would be clickbait

There is a woman on youtube ipad rehab.
It does not look to hard if you have the right equipment.
I was going to do a womans ipad at work as 10.00 i had nothing to lose.
When she brought it in it was a 64gig ipad 4 and the chip was over 50.00.
i left it and told her it wasnt worth the risk.

Jess from ipad rehab has been doing it a long time and certainly makes it look easy. I struggle now as my hands aren't as steady as they once were. Watching her videos it is quite easy to forget how small these components actually are.
I was ready to repair a macbook logic board when I read this post so thought I would take a (poor)picture of a couple of components I am replacing. I put them alongside a micro sd card to give an idea of how tiny they are.

The chip is basically the battery charger, 28 pins or 29 if you count the groundplane and there is a strip of 4.7 ohm resistors alongside.
