Hi,

Ive got a MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2012) and think the internal flash\hdd is knacked so I want to replace it. I've read up (I'm not really a Mac man) that you can get an adapter and convert the slot to an m.2 which are cheaper - has anyone tried this? Just want to make sure I get the right parts as Macs are fussy as hell.

Thanks

Never seen that you could use an adapter but I use to work in an authorised Apple repair shop and we would upgrade drives with drives from OWC as they had better performance than the actual Apple drives and were cheaper.

Their batteries are very good too. Some increase the usage by 20% on the mac original batteries

Thanks mate, I don't suppose you have a link as I'm not sure what you mean by OWC?

haha should of high lighted the link in my last post:hubbahubba:

click owc in my last post.

im not 100% sure but i think so. i never actually ordered the parts just signed for them and opened them.

You can get OWC drives on Amazon UK, I swapped the drive on my 2011 Air for a bigger one, easy.

But they are expensive - right? A cheaper alternative is to get the M.2 converter (if I can get my hands on one) and use a standard M.2 drive..
