Hi just wondering if anyone could tell me if OS X Mavericks is worth the update? I'm currently running OS X Mountain Lion but have read mixed reviews about this OS.

Thanks,
Dusted

Fine for me, got it across my iMac/MBP. I've read on a few hiccups, but nothing thats affected me.

I might give it a go later but I suppose if I make a backup of my Mac using "Time Machine" then I could easily revert back to the previous if I don't like it...well it sounds like a logical plan anyway! :)

Either make a backup using Time Machine, or use CCC to make a clone of your drive. That way, as you said, you can revert back if you don't like Mavericks.
I'm using Mavericks on my MM/MBP, not had any problems so far.

Thanks, I didn't even think of CCC...might go down that route later then upgrade.

Is it possible to do a clean install of Mavericks downloaded from the App Store?

Not easy but it is possible - you'll have to download Mavericks and make a bootable USB drive. Google is your friend. Good Luck

Download Mavericks from the App Store, get an 8gb USB, download Diskmaker X and that will create you a bootable USB to do a clean install.

Its good, better battery life too.

WWDC on 2nd June will announce the next version of OS X too so looking forward to that :)
