Ive just received the reminder from the vets for my dogs booster jab... £45

According to the vet if i dont get him done he's likely to drop dead (slight exaggeration lol)

My dogs 3 and has had all previous boosters but i just feel the vets ripping us off again

Ive had dogs on the past that have gone 15+ years and never had one jab and never had the slightest problem.

I'd be distraught if something happened to him because i didnt get him done but i just feel the vets are full of bullshit

What do you guys think? do you have your dogs done every year.

that does seem a bit steep, we pay about £22 for ours, at vets for pets. we only have him done because we take him to the kennels when we go on our hols and they wont let them in unless they are up to date with the vets.
we have had dogs for years and never got them jabs, same as my dad, and not 1 of the dogs caught owt, but a m8,s dog got parvo . i guess its a risk you take.

We only pay £25 for our dogs annual jab. Well worth the peace of mind.

Think the price goes off the weight of your dog and mines a 30-35kg male Labrador

I know i'll get him done just for peace of mine but still think im being ripped off, even though ive phoned other vets and the price is the same give or take a quid or 2.

It seems these days being a vet is a license to print money!

Same as everything else mate money money money, we have a cat and the mrs every year has her done religiously if it were left to me no chance the same with a dog.
We always had dogs growing up and so did every one else no one had there dogs done 20 years ago.

going off tangent slightly do you have a jab every year for whatever???

Money.

You should check to see if your local branch of the RSPCA or BlueCross or Dog Pound (sorry guys dont know what you's call it that side of the pond) do a subsidised booster/injection service as at least the fee paid goes to help the charity involved rather then line the vet's pocket.

its moneymaking bullshit m8..............just stick with the 1st jab

non of my dogs or anyone else i know has had problems with only the 1 injection.................these boosters could cause side affects in later life of the dog or possibley kill it in some cases

google dog booster see what i mean m8

Vets for pets did have an offer on. If you get you dog spade there it was free booster jabs for life.

Dont know if its still on thou, it was about 4 months ago i got that.

a said you buy one you get one free.

I never have my dogs injected after thier 2nd birthday mate, an old vet once told me that once the dog is adult and not running loose they are ok, although you will need them done if going into kennels

regards Dave
