the wifes looking to insure her baby lol . a 3 year old yorky .. anywho the dog had a funny turn tonight and looked like it was havin a stoke ? anyway after a few minutes left on his own he start to get better and nows fine ..
(think he trapped a nerve in his neck chewing a chew )
r these insurance things for dogs ok ? and anyone know the best .. o and the cheapest lol

Must be worth having. My mate's dog had operation £900

Moneysupermarket do comparisons.

Insurance is a must if you work and own a dog. Shop around for the insurance and read the small print as there are a lot of gotcha's in these types of policies.

get it insured mate or it will cost you a fortune, if it looks like its had a stroke sooner rather than later

If someone in your family is a single parent are house wife and claims some benifits I would not bother as they can always take the dog to the rspca if he takes a bad turn. which with a yorkie isnt very oftern there very trouble free dogs never say never I know.

If i had a dog with known problems id get him insured straight away.

I use Tesco's pet insurance Paul.I switched insurances and the dog got taken ill and i didn't realise you couldn't claim in the first 14 days of taking out the policy and bugger me if he didn't get ill 3 days after i switched! cost me about £350 to get him sorted but he's worth every penny of it

looking like we might have a problem because we havent kept up on the boosters as the dog only ever goes out in the garden .. looks like they will use that against us

as long as he has had his first 3 I think you should be ok get him to the vets and get a booster then get him insured.

The woman that lives next door to me is a single mam she just jumps in the car with me when I need a vet are booster she just says its her dog at the rspca and prooves shes on benifits we always donate £20 though so we dont take a proper liberty.

Just tell the insurers you had him done in london when your mate was looking after him for a few months but you've lost the certificate

i believe marks and spensors are only company which do £0 excess and premium is just as others. Im not sure if they are still doing the £0 excess tho

We have our insurance with PetPlan. Pay £65 excess and then free after that, covered for £4000 every year.
If you have to take your pet to the vets with a problem and you pay,say £45,then if you have to go again with the same problem you only pay £20 the next time.

Best bloody thing we ever got mate.

We've got a Boxer dog and she's just been diagnosed with a torn ACL. We were advised for her to have an operation called TPLO which will cost between £2500-£3000 per leg. And they said if she's done one leg then its very likely the other leg could go as well. Bloody 6 grand!!!
Glad I won't have to worry about paying it!!!!

Charlie my dog has had all his boosters and i never was given any certificate m8
Thats interesting mate .I've got a card that the vet fills in everytime i take him for his booster. When he got ill the vet asked me for his card and i couldn't find it anywhere so the vet said OK we will just give him the full vaccination and he issued me with a new card

yeh that could be the case im sure all the dogs registerd with my local rspca are kept on computer but like you say if smirn says hes just got the dog and doesnt know his past history but got a booster when he got him im sure an insurance company wouldnt hold that against him are the dog

this is hard work .. if it was a car ld just get another one ... 3 years is a long time . l'll see if the wife wants a new one lol

Tell me about it mate .When Max got ill i just took him to the vets assuming he was covered because i'd been paying his insurance since we got him .Then when i couldn.t find his booster card i said "well don't you have a record of him" but he kind of ignored me .So instead of paying the excess of £50 for his treatment and something like £29 for his booster it cost £350 for the treatment and £45 for his injections !!.The thing is i've done nothing wrong he has always been insured and he's had all his boosters .Like you say give me a car to fix anyday its a lot simpler

my advice to anyone wanting pet insurance is to check see if any vets in your area offer cover plans as these often work out cheaper and are more convenient because you dont need to make a claim.

The vet will carry out all treatments and give meds with no hassle and most importantly no cost.

A vet's round here charges £26 a month which may seem allot but when my german shepard had an ear condition it cost me about that each time i took him in.

My dad uses the same vet also and his lab jumped over barbed wire split his stomach open and that one treatment would have cost hundreds alone!

same as you m8 only ive got 2 german shepards {1 with an ongoing ear infection} its cost about 2 and a half thou in vets fees this year alone, {7 or 8 thou overall}

no problem with petplan, they never asked me for any booster proof
