Evening all,

Could someone please point me in the direction of a working firmware link for the above? I've been going around in circles with dodgy links and adverts. lol

Cheers

I think i've tried that one Dave. It flashed to the end and then hung there. Thanks anyway

I don't really know what i'm doing lol

The download has 5 different files? The tutorial says click the AP button and direct it t0o the file. (so i direct it to the top file which has AP_ at the front. I got it to flash saying success, but when it reboots, it gets stuck on the Samsung boot screen?
Do i need to flash the other files?

Cheers
Dar

Been a long time since I did a samsung galaxy s5 mate, I'm sure you just download the correct firmware for your model and there's a update tool "Odin" that loads it.

I'm using Odin, but a little confused on the 5 files in the download?

I'll plod on :)

Now I know I could be wrong but I think you've mixed up your files. If you have 5 files, that must be for the pc method of flashing. When I was flashing my phone, I was using the pc method and yes, it surely had different files (somewhere around 5-6 if I recall correctly). On pc when you're all set, you turn on the required program (forgot its name), chose the folder with the files and click go. Now if you're flashing directly from your mobile, it should just be a rar file. Now I may be wrong, I was flashing a different phone and I didn't use that app Odin that you've mentioned before. Maybe if you're doing it with odin, it must have 5 files. But the common way of flashing through your phone is with Team win recovery project or Clockwork mod recovery. So I advise you look up if you have the correct files and if you still fail to use odin, I advise you try and use one of the methods I just mentioned.

I've made slight progress lol

Turns out you need to direct Odin to the 4 corresponding files.
I've tried 3 different Firmware's. One failed to flash, the other 2 flashed on, but when the phone rebooted, it said installing, and got to 30% then rebooted, said erasing and rebooted and stuck at the Samsung screen.

I've found a site with load of Firmware's. Seems to be about 10 per each provider lol
All different PDA Versions/ CSC versions etc.
I'm trying to download a few, but they take hours or fail. They want me to pay for a premium account lol

I'm currently downloading my last attempt firmware. They take about 5 hours each. I've tried about 7 since Thursday lol.

I have to say that, out of all the items people ask me to try and fix, mobile phones defeat me the most. (Apple in particular) I really need to learn to say no. There's nothing more annoying than spending a few days on something, only to result in complete failure. :(

:)

@dar1437 what carrier is the phone on or is it unlocked version? go to here and read how to flash it then download the correct carrier software for the phone from here or go to samsung support site and download it from there Pal

Cheers for the reply Shaun. I haven't a clue what carrier lol

I've been on them links and tried a few different ones. Some froze/ locked up before flashing, the others flashed on ok, but when the phone rebooted, got to 32% and rebooted and stuck on the logo screen. Some of the downloads lost connection after a few hours lol. Very frustrating
I'm calling it a day and giving it back to the lad tomorrow.

Thanks anyway :)
