The other half has managed to sit on her Samsung s2 and cracked the screen, are these cheap screens advertised on fleabay genuine or are they a scam? I'm not clued up on mobile phones, but thought they used some type of special capacitive or resistive touchscreens, do these have a plastic cover over them that can be replaced?

Lcd s are fine but the s2 is not easy phone to replace screen.the s3 and s4 are a doddle.as long as you take your time you should be ok sneaker.

Thanks for the reply nistleboy, can you point me in the right direction to get a screen, the ones on feabay for about £3 from China seem like a scam to Me.

Well I've just watched a youtube replace the glass with a heat gun, then re glue a new glass with a uv lamp. Is this the way to go?

You.ll need a heat gun/hair dryer to soften the 3/4mm glue tape holding the digitiser in place, and an old credit card or the triangular tool to break the seal, once thats done just clean off any old glue but dont use solvents as it may affect/damage the body.

Then use new tape to attach the new digitser , its not difficult and requires steady patience more than skill.

The glue needs a lamp mate ultra violet i would just tape the glass down.if you heat glass around 72deg mate and take your time.i use alchohol to get rid of the glue on the lcd.u might get dust in your screen from time to time but just lift glass and wipe.i have all the equip and i succeeded on doing 2 with loca most of the time it would have bubbles or the back light wouldnt work proper.
