Cubot X9

Anyone got one, seen one? Any good?

For the price, roughly £90, they look very very good. I just need something as a backup phone.
I emailed the company and Lollipop is not an option. Not sure if it will come, maybe someone can say?

Hi i have used many china generic smartphones over the years and my brother uses a cubot as his main phone..
you basically get what you pay for and unless your savvy using MTK flashtools etc then device will never update as flashing more upto date firmware is the only way and this can cause bricks etc as many flash wrong firmware..
saying that the phones do everything a smartphone should but at times they suffer poor GPS reception and wifi or 3G problems also battery life is poor.some devices are okay while others dont work,if you buy one make sure your able to return it just in-case.
It would at the end of the day be fine as a back up device..they are not all bad.

I have 2 cubot phones P9 dual core phone has jelly bean pre installed paid about £85 delivered used it for 10 months or so with no problems at all wifi and mobile data setup easy.....will work with gifgaff,virgin,talktalk sims

Got myself a new cubot S308 quad core kitkat pre installed, for Christmas paid about the same including delivery much faster clear screen. Re updates I have done 3 on the S308....play store works well, I have a 32gb flash card for all my music etc, you can tell the phone where to store data

I did see the X9 but it was only avail to pre order very similar spec from what I remember, the x9 is bigger

Battery life is an issue, however my wife has a nokia lumia 520 windows phone and she has to put that on charge every day, overnight so I do the same with my cubot

My current iPhone requires to be charged twice a day so not an issue. I will put it on charge when I get to my desk and then again when I goto bed.
