Looking to by an android TV box for my Kids bedroom. I know nothing about them so need some advice.

Has to have excellent wireless built in. be able to stream mkv movies etc from a nas. Be able to play android games etc and must be able to watch the Showbox App and easy to operate as its for an 11 yr old..

Is this possible, if it is point me in the right direction. I want a decent one with decent remote atc, not to bothered about prices if I have to spend extra to get decent quality, ram , processing etc

im gonna invest in a new quad core android box in the new year and replace my old mx box
ive found a good site where to get them cheepish (around 40 pound area)
i would put link up to benefit other members, but i dont know if its ok or not
if its ok by mods il put link up

Just beware of cheap clones for low prices lots of people get stung that way and also when flashing firmware as cheaper ones have lame firmware I have a friend who sells fully setup android boxes with full support and next day delivery he does m8n and also amazon fire tv

@bigbadblue05

if you google geekbuying and follow link to the their android tv boxes
The mx box for £40 on that site is only dual core and is a clone of a clone that has the old g02ref motherboard in them which has many issue's like freezing and sound hicups after prolonged use
so i would not waste your time buying from there, as the old saying goes you get what you pay for.
read the reviews

I've had one of these too. It's good for the price (40 quid) but i'd give another 20 for the M8 (twice the cores and twice the RAM) :)

Are there clones of these about then? Mine was £100 earlier in the year (Matricom)Looking on ebay they are still at least £80 from what I can see.

Wouldn't be surprised. lol mine quite possibly was? I wouldn't be too concerned about clones. I've had several Dreamboxes still going strong, few years now. About 15 of them MX2's have gone through my hands, no complaints as yet. (remind me to change my phone number after xmas lol)

just ousted my mx2 box which ive had for a year now and replaced it with a t8 from droidsticks, live sports from hq zone and full 1080 without buffering google them lots of videos on youtube and sold on ebay

I’ve just bought a M8 from the same place, although the M8 box itself is very good, it does not respond to anything from the original remote control. Fortunately I bought an extra Remote Wireless Qwerty Keyboard as an extra, it is responding to that but I have to move my arm all over the place to get the mouse to move where I want it, Very frustrating and there is no way to turn the box off other than to pull the cord out.
I might go back and change it for a T8 tomorrow, if they have them in stock.

Send it back mate, sounds faulty to me.

On one of their videos they say in settings display you can set the output to 4k UHD but on my one it’s set to 720p, the option is grey even though the HDMI auto detection is on. My telly is the latest Samsung 4k ultra HD. Definitely going back!
