I'm looking at getting new phone and thinking about trying android as I'm bored of iphones, has anyone tried any these chinese smartphones? Specs always look good for the price but wary of it falling apart etc..

Hopefully someone on here has tried one but I'll certainly post when I do buy something

just get a phone that will work for probably less money
the clone won't work and if it does not for long!

If you search the web I'm sure you can install custom roms, it has jelly bean pre installed it's good enough for me

ive brought a xiaomi mi4 from china its an amazing phone knocks hell out of iphone 6 and i bin with iphones for years but fancied a change best move i ever did..

The Moto G is a cracking budget phone and can be picked up pretty cheap If you wanna try android

I just bought the wife a Moto G LTE and its a pukka phone
if I didnt already have the s5 I would certainly get one myself

:)

Ok, I'm seriously looking at this one Unlocked Lenovo A806 Android 4.4 5.0" 16GB Octa-Core Touch 4G Smartphone Black | eBay

Just unsure about 4g bands? Seems to be a decent spec phone for the price

I would steer away from Lenovo phones..the firmware they run is their own version of android..it has many problems with running good in the uk due to the heavy bloated firmware,it's slow looks nothing like android and I have heard nothing but bad stuff about Lenovo android devices.
As for the generic China mobiles I have played with loads like cubot or kingspan star etc they all do the job okay BUT CHECK THEY ARE 3G uk compatible as many won't work with three network, there is no OTA updates of firmware to update you need to flash device, they can be very temperamental and after a few weeks the battery life becomes poor.
I don't see the point of paying £70 for a China mobile when you can get a moto g for £90 that works like a proper android device has a full uk warranty and Will get android system updates before most other devices as its part of the Google family.

Thanks for the advice, will steer clear of those

Been using a oneplus one as 2nd phone (have iphone 6) for a few months now. Begining to prefer it over the iphone. It's not 4g compatible but that doesn't bother me.

Get a look: KingZone K2.
octacore processor
camera 13mpx Sony imx214
ram 3gb

UPDATE
Dont bother with the Cubot x17s,had it a day, speaker was tinny and quiet and the wifi was horrendous, not even full bars when literally laying on the router and once upstairs forget about it... :( Gone back already
