Think I'll need to do this:

galaxy s2 USB/charging port replacement - YouTube

But was wondering about anti-static precautions. No anti-static wrist straps worn on this video, which I thought would be needed, but seems pretty straightforward. Anyone else carried out this procedure?

At only £6/£7 for a USB charging port, it's worth taking the time out in my opinion. Would just like a second opinion from the reliable staff/members of DW before I carry this out :)

Thanks in advance,

Not replaced it yet, as opening the phone up showed that the power connection to the motherboard was loose. Thought since I replaced the connection, and got no 'Stopped charging as the battery temperature is too low' message, I had no need to replace.

But it's still not charging, but since I've opened the little bugger with no problems I'm going to order the USB power supply port and replace it now.

The worst part of the process is refitting those bloody power and volume buttons tbh!!

Thank you for the kind offer nistleboy, but I've already ordered the part. Took some persuading from me to the owner to eventually realise that I knew that the charging port was the problem, and awaiting the item to carry out the replacement.

You're a credit to DW nistleboy and I thank you for the offer, Rep added mate! :)

Kind regards,
