htc desire update

hi guys really wanna update my htc desire to android 2.3 but i cant find the update anywhere the phone is unlocked to all networks too if someone can point me in the right direction that would be great also if they know how to apply the update too

The latest version is 2.2.2 for this phone and their are no further legit updates.
Check by going to "settings" "about phone" and in "software information" it will tell you your version and you can also click on "system software updates" which will allow you to update your phone if there is an update. Would recommend being on wireless to download update.

System software updates won't work as none of the carriers every released 2.3, it has to be done manually.

There is a developer release 2.3.6 I believe that you can get from HTC developer site.

But to be honest, if you are going to piss about flashing the ROM then you might as well go the whole hog and put on a custom ROM. I'm using runnymead on mine which is based on 2.3.5 with HTC Sense 3.5. Rock solid and better still over 100MB free for apps.
