I'm glad I moved from iPhone to android. I've just sold my sgs2 which is a cracking phone and now with ICS for the new Xperia S which is amazing but not much support yet.

Only 2 but only ones I've really tried.
Xperia S white

is that the sony ericsson xperia arc s ? or sony xperia s ?

is it pay as you go or contract ?

I don't know if you are worried about screen size but SGII or HTC Sensation XE are both great phones but big. HTC also have a new quad core phone coming out soon called One X which is supposed the best mobile out there.

Just as important, make sure the phone support ICS which is the latest version of android and has some nifty features over previous versions of android. And don't forget that Android is just the base O/S. Each vendor adds their own 'skin' or utilities over the top which separate the different brands. In my opinion the best one out there is HTC Sense.

well i have about 230-240 for one to buy with, so i am after a pre owned one or a new one, but i am a bit weiry about pre owned, because there is too many dodgy people out there, what does ics mean ?
and i would like a big screen on my fones, speed and camara is essential to me, and future proof too, i hear alot of negatives about battery time, on android fones, so i am a bit wary about that too, i seem to be pointing to the galaxy s2, but dont know where to buy one from, that will not get blocked,

ICS = Ice Cream Sandwich. Latest version of Android operating system.

Battery life can be bad, depends on what you do. If you have GPS, bluetooth switched and running a lot of apps in the background then yes you can flatten the battery in just a few hours at worst.

Not sure about current prices but you are going to be struggling I think with just £250. Not sure were you are going to purchase a used one from. I've had a few off ebay without problems but sadly there are scammers out there. best if you can find one were you can pick it up in person.

The One X does look an impressive phone, but still no memory card slot :( although it has 32mb internal memory

HTC One X - Full phone specifications

I have the Galaxy s2, I also got rid of my iphone, not looked back tbh

The Xperia S on contract, only released this month. For the money you've got the SGS2 is the one I'd look at. Maybe have a look in cash converters or similar shops if you've got them near you and at least you can ask about the blocking query.

I've just got the HTC Sensation free with my contract (24 months with 18 months free on Orange Panther 25).

I've had a couple of Android phones but this is by far the best I've had. ICS is coming this month as an update.

Battery life isnt the greatest with WiFi on but I charge mine each night.

In my line of work I get to test/play with a lot of different phones and I have to say my fave phoneat the moment is the Galaxy S2, closely followed by the HTC Sensation. I currently have the Galaxy S which is pretty good, saving for S2 though :D

Had looked at a few reviews for a new phone a while back, and the Galaxy S2 won it for me. iPhone 4s (with it's smaller but sharper screen display) was far too pricey IMO. Plus, it's Samsung technology that's powering it. The HTC range was a close second.

Cheaper contract, bigger (but not oversized) screen, with better colours, the Samsung S2. in my opinion, is the best phone out there at the moment.

I say this, not as a Samsung "fanboy", I change manufacturers as I see fit. And the S2 is a great piece of kit.

I would recommend the Motorola atrix. The first version, not the atrix 2. I had one, soldit and got both Samsung and iPhone 4s sold both and got the atrix back again.
if you like messing with phones then this will give you a dual core 3.2ghz phone with 1gb ram.

hi
i have had a galaxy s for sometime, i was given an i phone 4 but i sold it, i have to say i prefer the android phones.
den

I'd second the samsung galaxy s2. Superb and I normally stick to htc
