I have an AA2+ and my Rats picon updater plugin is no longer working. I tried downloading picons manually from this site but I cant. Can the updater be fixed?

I have changed over to snp picons from reference named picons
does your image support snp picons ?

Haven't heard of snp picons and not sure if they will work. My image is enigma 2.

Enigma2 is an OS (Operating System) and an image runs on top of it.

Amiko Alien 2+ does support E2 and Spark OS.

If you press menu, do you see an option for "info" or something along that and if so could you tell us what it reads.

Some of the older images dont support Service name picons they need to use service reference picons it all depends what image and how old your image is.

I'll admit my knowledge of the Alien 2 plus is limited but the image version and kernel should tell us enough to advice.

When i go to info it lists:
Hardware: Spark7162, Image: Undefined, Kernel version 2.6.32.61_stm24_0214, Enigma: 2014-03-02

That image i believe is too old to support SNP you need to go back to Service refrence picons but i suspect @Rat has dropped these now.

I'm not too familiar with Amiko STB with dual OS's neither but it doesn't look like you actually have an E2 image itself otherwise I would expect Image to say something other than "undefined".

If you're happy with what you are using (except for picons) then I would look at:

Ocram Picons.

These picons are still the old service reference picons (srp).

Rat's picons are now in SNP format and require an image that is less than about 7months (or there about).

Is this a plugin or is it the actual picons to download and copy into relevant folder?

It's plugin. However, if you just need the actual files then use something like 7-zip to browse the ipk file where you can then drag/drop to wherever you need to.

Excellent. Much appreciated guys, I'll let ye know how i get on,

It will support SNP allright.
You just need to change the picon renderer file so it will display them.
File goes in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Components/Renderer/ and must have 644 properties
