What image are you using on your alien?

Currently using PKT Nebula..............but i keep getting the boot message on the front screen of box due to memory running out so im looking for another image.

What are you guys using?

which alien and what sats?

I have a nice back up of the openar image for 28e for the alien 1. Set to my own preferences, no autobouquets, oscam, and a channels list for Ireland. I could upload it if needed.

HDMU 10905 running very nice on Alien 2

Well i have the alien 8900 but i guess any alien boxes and there corresponding images is fine as long as it helps some one

i'm using a HDMU and its working 100% no problems with oscam 6666!

ive just reinstalled HDMU image and gone for the latest one which is HDMU 11012.................

just wondered is anyone running a hard drive with this image and also has anyone installed any skins?

I get bored very quickly lol

Had problems getting my soft cam working again with this hdmu image......some how managed it. I think by fluke more than anything ...

I'm with HDMU as well.

They do sometimes have an issue with the installed softcam manager not displaying correctly, either look at the VFD which is correct, or they do have an alternative softcam manager.

Regarding USB HDD's dont forget to format it to EXT3 Primary first, then plug it in wait for it to detect it, then a full reboot, and it will auto mount every time there after.

Thanks I'll try that when I get chance.......what do you suggest using on a windows machine for formatting in ext3? Mybdrive works fine on my windows machine but when its in the alien box it makes clicking noises like a failing hard drive. But ive tried it with several drives with the same outcome

Yes a Windows PC is fine, but track down a free disk tool like EaseUS. It run's in windows but will allow Linux formatting (Ext3 Primary).

Hope its ok posting this, but this is the one I've used in the past <10910, haven't tried it on newer yet, but should be fine.

Just FTP it straight onto the box.

Make a copy of the original file, just in case it overwrites it or go's t*t's up.

I've complied it a bit better.

The directory structure is as in the attachment.

It contains the alternative softcam manager and HDD manager (up to you which to FTP across).

The HDD manager works, as some HDMU images fail at 50%.

thanks again its all still working fine.

just reinstalled the newer HDMU image and i cant get either to work
