No sound on box

I've no sound on my amiko alien 2 box running vix4 007. I Did read that you need to change between ac3 and pcm in the auto language settings but I see no such option in any of the system settings.

can anyone help as I am pretty impressed with this image...

Anybody know why there is no sound with this image...

First off to get to the route cause, is this no sound on literally every channel or are there specific channels this seems to be happening on, for example movie channels perhaps?

All channels. I haven't sorted out a can yet so I've only tested the free channels

OK given this is with all channels it wouldn't actually suggest a firmware setting, that is unless you (or someone) has changed something from the default, but to point you to the two places for changing default audio settings as those you mentioned then take a look in MENU > Setup > System > A/V settings and MENU > Setup > System > A/V settings > Auto language selection.

If neither of these help then we can go back a step and take if from how this started, if it's a brand new fresh flash, if it did work but now doesn't, how it's connected to TV etc. and go from there.

This box is actually working fine on my other tv. It's just a basic bush 24 inch. Why is it not working on my 42 inch Sony w9, I have tried all 4 hdmi outputs

From what you say this is not image or receiver hardware related (it's confirmed as working with another TV) and therefore not unfortunately one I can help you a great deal more with.

I would guess it's something to do with PCM/AC3 settings but quite why your Sony TV acts differently to the norm is beyond my scope I'm afraid, perhaps a new thread about the TV itself may shed more light on this?
