I have a few sab titan 3 hd receivers and my supplier has recently added an online channel update server via the remote control, brilliant idea and works a treat, only problem with it its only fta channel list, my question is does anyone know how to set up a similar type server that I can add a full 28.2 list to so people can update their lists online when frequency changes occur, this would be a great project guys and can't be that difficult to do for anyone that knows servers.

BUMP
C'mon guys there must be someone on here that knows how to do this
I want to be able to manually update my receiver's channel list and then install it on a server so others can use the online update feature thats available on the receiver, just add url to go to and press update which conects them to "my update server" and downloads a new channel file

If you can upload the existing plugin, someone could have a look at it for you. Quite possibly, as simple as changing the website it downloads from.

Looks to be some form of Closed source receiver to me so surely this would have to be done by the firmware software writers

Yes thats exactly what I think it is, my first step would be to set up a server on a machine here that I can manually install an updated channel file to and change the url and port number on the receiver to correspond, i just don't know how to do the server side of things, when i get time i will try to post screen shots of the procedure to give more of an idea of what takes place.
Thanks Abu.

Yes it is a closed source receiver alright but in this section of the menu there is 2 options first is automatic http update which connects back to my suppliers server but as stated, its only an FTA list, and the second option is manual update where you can input your own URL, I just don't know the server side of things, but I imagine it couldn't be that difficult.?
There is also an option for ftp update if that makes things any easier?

some screen shots (hopefully)IMG_0670.JPG

Not very clear pictures unfortunately.. but hopefully it gives some insight as to the procedure..
NOTE the auto and manual settings, the manual one you can enter whatever URL you like i.e your own update server, thats what i'm trying to accomplish.
Any ideas?

had to add a magic line to one of these boxes for a mate, took me over an hour to work out how to do it.. hence if anyone asks me for advise on a receiver I always recommend any E2 one

As far as i am aware this is basically an Amiko non linux box.

you can download the latest channel lists from a website sky box update .com (lose the spaces) click amiko at bottom of page.
When connected to the server you should be able to download the channel list. just select the one that you think is (probably amiko micro red one).

If you dont get sorted let me know and i can lift a list of my box and upload it here.
