Hi all, got a problem with my box, i turned it on today and i am getting nowhere with it. i had it loaded and working properly, not too sure how this has happened. when i turn it on i dont get the usual messages on start up, i get b4-u-[ b4team ]- after that i get usb update or custom boot 1. nothing else happens, ive tried loading duo multi boot using the usb update option and get nothing, just seems to freeze and the same goes for custom boot 1. does anyone have any words of wisdom it would be much apprecitated. thanks

what image have you been running and is it via NAND or USB?

Hi mate i have been running nebula zero v2 running from nand

you probably need to reflash do you know how to do that?

i do but whenever the box starts up its not the usual update process, i put the flash on to usb and selected the usb update on the box but it just sits on that, i had it on it for two hrs and then i tried using the duo multi boot zip file extracted to the usb and tried the usb update process with that too, left that for 2 hrs also and got nowhere, nothing seems to update

you should have a good quality sd card or flash drive formatted to fat 32 with the 3 files in the route....it should take no more that 5 mins

i have a usb drive that works on all the other boxes the same as this, im really not sure how this can just do this, ive left the box and tried it again, at first when i tried to start it, i could hear the fan and hard drive start up but the front screen had nothing so, uplugged and tried again in 5 mins holding in power, it came up uboot 1.3.1 053 then prog, so i let go of power to see if it would prog and nothing happened, i tried off and back on again holding power button and i got b4-u-[ b4team ]- after that i get usb update or custom boot 1. two different start ups but mostly the latter

thanks for that mate, i tried that and theres only 2 options, usb update or custom boot rom 1. nothing else comes up, ive tried usb update with those files and nothing happens, just sits on usb update, im trying with custom boot rom one right now ill report back asap, thanks again

Hi again, left the box like that for 3 hours last night, nothing seems to want to work, i dont know if i have the proper files for what its trying to load. thanks

Ive tried the duo multiboot, is the multiboot2 different files or are they pretty much the same? thanks for all your help.

ok that's great, i will have a go at the newer one. just have to find those files now, do you know where i would get them?

Hi again, turned the box on today, got uboot 1.3.1 053, i then pressed the down arrow button and it went passed the first uboot and i got ------------------ not sure why that is, usually you get a menu with loads of options, not loads of little lines

The nBox 5800S use 2 different uboots to start the software.

1 ... Freebox - first message displayed on the front panel is Boot

2 ... Bt4 - first message displayed on the front panel is nBox

Freebox is for running Enigma 7.1.6 and older firmware

Bt4 is for running Nebula v3 and older firmware

You can not use Freebox for Nebula.

I will upload Duo Multi uboot, which contain both uboots.

To update your current Freebox uboot to Duo Multi uboot . Swich off receiver. Format pendrive to Fat32 and copy files to pendrive. Connect pendrive to receiver using usb socket. Press power button and keep it than connect power socket to receiver You will see BOOT on screen then PROG, wait until on screen will be OK. Then Disconnect power supply. Connect again. When on screen show BOOT press arrow up or down. You can select from where uboot start load software. So duo boot start like Freebox because was BOOT on screen. To change to B4T uboot use arrow up and go to b4u than press OK. Automaticly uboot Freebox will change to B4T. If you want back to Freebox from B4T go to pressing arrow up go to F-b press OK and when message BOOT is on screen press arrow up or down. Go to Nand and your Enigma will start.

To update your current B4T uboot to Duo Multi uboot. Swich off receiver. Format pendrive to Fat32 and copy files to pendrive. Connect pendrive to receiver using usb socket. Connect power supply and when screen show NBOX press arrow up and go to UPDATE then press OK. Wait until screen show OK. Disconnect power supply and connect again. Press arrow up or down and go to Nand. Your Nebula will start.

Finally.
Using duo multi boot we do not need any more upload via USB uboot to change it.
Just form Freebox we go to b4u using arrows and press OK.
From B4T we go to F-b press OK than arrow up or down change form where software will be started.

Important:
Only use B4T for Nebula
Only use Freebox for Enigma.

Never upload Enigma with B4T uboot and Nebula with
Freebox.

for duo multiboot v2

same method as old multiboot or image. For freeboox keep POWER BUTTON, and for B4T using arrows go to UPDATE.

thanks goes to euro trans for the info
