Just noticed theres now a GiGaBlue HD800SE for £149.00 never heard of it before anyone got any reviews on it, which teams are supporting it? Worth getting?

Isn't it just another DM800SE clone?

AFAIK it doesn't support DM800SE images though. Personally I'd stick with the Sim 2.10 DM800SE clones which sell for a similar price.

Its seems from the quick look at the spec I just had,its about the same as the DM800 and not the SE model as the name might have you thinking, its also being sold as a genuine box and not a clone

There's load of info and an entire subsection on the forums that support the VIX image. :)

The boot times are atrocious, it took about 2 minutes to boot in that video, lol.

I love the bootscreen though.

I had one to try and Yes its the same spec of a DM800 but its not a clone, and as M3NTAL says it is pain fully slow.

I ran the OpenAAF image on it which is based on OpenPLI which was very stable and probably the best image for it, They did bring out a Kernel 3.1.1 image out but it was riddled with bugs and slowed it down even further.

Not many teams support it and i thought the Tuner sensitivity was pretty awful as well, Probably reduced in price to start shifting units.

Is the forum that supports the ViX image the only ones pushing this box? It seems like they are plugging the box at every opportunity on their forum.

Probably as stated above, the ViX forum got a load of these boxes cheap and the forum and mods are pushing them to any mug who passes by.

I think also that other crap forum Satstation is also peddling them at every opportunity to its members, probably because its so bad

Yeah, I noticed that as well, pushing them for all they are worth, I will stay well clear of them. I was actually thinking about getting one until I woke up and saw sense when I realised how little support there was for them and only these two web site pushing them at every opportunity.

I am hoping to get a DM800 SE clone and have asked on this forum for a link to the Chinese supplier but no info yet. Even though I need a new HD box I will wait until I get the info for a dream clone rather than buy one of these GagaBlu receivers. The biggest pi55 take is that tthe ViX forum are advertising these as "Clone Busters", WTF is that all about, all these are is a clone of other boxes stuck together on the same production line in China. How that Vix forum can describe them as "Clone Busters" is bewildering and actually insulting to anyone with a quarter of a brain.

Yes stick to DMM or VU for linux.

Good advice, these are well established receivers with very strong support from a lot of teams. That GagaBlue has next to no support and is going down the zoot tube faster than a slippery turd.

Has that GagaBlue HD800SE been discontinued, another E2 bites the dust, stick with the established boxes instead of all the spin from the vendors about "this is the latest... blah blah, all the teams are supporting it.... blah blah ....guff gubbins"

True but its still painfully slow to boot from cold, that new maxdigital XP1000 around the same price pretty ugly box but the internals knocks the spots off the gigablue and the solo and even the duo same price as well £149
