Hi all,
Just bought a ferguson ariva 120hd combo. Is there any patched firmware or support available for this receiver?
many thanks.

This is all ive found mate so far will continue to look for you

the updater requires a null modem cable connected to a serial com port on your pc or laptop

hi, not sure if this has been covered elsewhere. i only realised what this box can do. is there a tut to help me set this box up for the card share option. i was hoping that its not too complicated as i'm not exactly an expert around a computer. thanks in advance.

thanks for the reply cuebase. i bought the box for the hd dtt sat combo not realizing there may be a bit more available. i havent done anything yet as i want to sit down with as much info as i can get before trying anything instead of bricking it. i have installed a fix from fergusons site to fix a lip sync issue but hoping theres nothing much more complicated than something like that regarding a cline. i was looking at the tm5402 threads and wonder would the ariva setup be similar to that.

i've just patched the box but no line yet. i also now realise i need homeplugs (wireless dongle?) as my router is too far away from my stb. i'm assuming the box would be now ready to enter line details in tools menu or am i being a bit simplistic. this is my first foray into this sort of thing and not sure about reliable line for here in ireland. i'll post back when i get the homeplugs, thanks, joe.

The simplest way to add a line is by usb, on your pc open notepad and type your line in there then save it. The file must be called allshares.dat so rename your file.
Then put the usb drive into the box go to usb scroll right till you see allshares.dat and upload to box.

so basically patch the box and add cline by usb. assuming i have my stb connected by ethernet will there be any changes needed in the tools menu itself or should it be ready to go. thanks.

Just check in system tools DHCP is on and in the cam menu make sure auto connect is ticked and your good to go. Be careful where you get your line from a lot of them are rubbish, make sure they give you a test line before you buy if they dont forget it. Best way is to try get a few friends together and share between you. I made a chanell file for one of these a while ago I will try and dig it out. :)

ok will do. i guess its trial and error with the providers. no homeplugs yet but will let you know how i get on when they come. if this works out the 120 combo will really have been a great buy. i appreciate your time and effort helping me cuebase, thanks a lot.

forget the home plugs mate, get yourself a tp-link TL-WR743ND router, theyre cheap as chips and can be used in client mode to connect to your existing router wirelessly and it gives you 4 wired lan ports out but thats not all it will simultaneously re-transmit your internet wirelessly thus giving you another wireless access point to connect to. Cool.. Am using 1 as I type this to connect this non wireless laptop to my internet.. :)

thats a more economic and efficient solution alright. was'nt even aware of such a thing. shows what i know. thats why i'm hoping its handy to set up the ariva for sharing. the homeplugs are in transit at this stage but thanks a lot for the heads up.

Hi guys..
First post..I bought one of these months ago obviously not realising the potential,I'm a dreambox user normally but bought this for the TV in the bedroom..is there a tutorial for this and secondly would the Cline in my DB work in this?
cheers..
jim

Yes your cline would work, but only in one box at a time. Its easy enough to patch it if you read my posts above. If your stuck just ask.: multi :

Cheers cuebase...just discovered that my receiver is in fact the Ariva HD combo box..it doesn't contain a number such as 100,120, 200 etc....does anybody know if it is still patachable and if so where to find the firmware?..
jim

Hi Jimrad, can you get the model number off the back of the box and post it here.
