MG5350 was working fine yesterday am.

Now goes through the motion of printing without putting any ink on the paper at all (no smudges or anything). (Even when in copy mode).

Tried deep cleaning etc new ink tanks etc and even had the print head out (not spotless but certainly doesn’t look clogged)

NO error messages

To all intents it is working, just no ink coming out.

It sounds like the print head has failed.

Firstly, there's a difference between the paper going straight through, compared to the paper going through the motions but not actually printing.

If it's the later, then it could likely be a different problem to the other printer mentioned because I think the MG5350 has a separate print head to the ink cartridges, where as your MG3250 uses the cheaper ink cartridges with print head combined (I have MG3250 as well).

You can try doing a few deep cleans to see if it's clogged (assuming it's not out of ink) as they can dry up if not used for a bit. You could also try changing settings to use tri-colour cart for printing blacks, or even grab a cheap refilled compatible cart from somewhere like cartridge people

Had a similar problem with my canon , after several cleans and several original and compatable cartridges it still remained the same

as said above the print head was seperate and can be removed , again cleaned and looked fine , I was about to give up until my friend was upgrading his printer as print feed mechanism broke , so I decided to play frankenstein with the two printers

First thing I tried was swapping the pint head , and what do you know this fixed it lol

After speaking to my mate at the local computer shop I was told there is a chip on the print head and in his experience these can become faulty

so I suggest trying to pick up a replacement print head fixed my situation

The MG3250 does not have a separate print head. Grab some compatible black and tri-colour ink cartridges from here - such as this and this

Paper goes straight through. Doesn't try n print. It rolls as if there's nothing to print. Cartridges are real and new. It's cool. I'll bin it. Not gonna try and repair it. Just thought it may have been a switch or a lever that was flipped. I'll buy a new one they are cheap as chips!
