going to read the Nand on this Jasper but how do i know if its a 16 , 256 or 512 MB guys ???

cheers Spud

internet back on guys Virgin is doing my head in on my connection gerrrrrr

bean reading up and found this guys

b. Phat:

Unless you already know, you can just run

"nandpro usb: -r1 test"

You'll get the flashconfig:

01198010 - Xenon, Zephyr, Opus, Falcon
00023010 - Jasper 16mb, Trinity
008A3020 - Jasper 256mb
00AA3020 - Jasper 512mb

Note - it's possible to have a BB Controller on a 16MB Jasper.

If you are STILL completely clueless as to what board you have (or want to make sure your Jasper is def correct), dump 64MB. Don't worry, it's the biggest size you would need and ensures that regardless of the console you have, you will have a full dump. Use this command:

"nandpro usb: -r64 nand64.bin"

Open the nand64.bin in 360 Flash Dump Tool. If it opens, great.

If not, you MAY need to manually remap blocks in the first area of the NAND. Post a help topic at this stage if you need assistance.

360 Flash dump Tool should tell you what console you have in the bottom right corner.

(Assuming your CB value is glitchable)
Zephyr / Falcon / Opus - re-dump as follows:

"nandpro usb: -r16 nanddump.bin"

Jasper - unless you are 100% sure you have a Big Block Jasper (256/512MB onboard MU), in 360 Flash Dump Tool, open your nand64.bin and click on Tools/Edit Config.

If you see PROPER data in there, you're good to go. rename nand64.bin to nanddump.bin.

If you see a page of FFFFFFs etc, you have a 16MB jasper and you can re-dump using the above -r16 command.

You can NOW program your CR based on your board type. Go ahead and install the CR.

I'm sure one of the pro's will be along soon, but what it's telling you is to dump the 1st 64 meg of the nand and have a look in "360 flash dump tool" to see what it reports back as, you only need the 1st 64 meg and not the whole 512 meg as I found out after doing 2 reads which were taking 45 minuets each.

Then see what it reports back as.

If the console is plugged in and you have gone to format the storage does it not tell you the size of it there?

Also looks like there's that test command as you have said with nandpro.
"nandpro usb: -r1 test"

cheers Dibbers

going to do the nandpro usb: -r64 nand64.bin and see if all looks ok in 360 flash dump tool.....

in the nandpro usb: -r1 test it came back as a 00023010 - Jasper 16mb

but looks like the nandpro usb: -r64 nand64.bin is safer to dump just in case ....

If the console is plugged in and you have gone to format the storage does it not tell you the size of it there?

no it tells me nothing in size , plus disconnected the hard drive as well

all sorted guys used the -r64 nand64.bin (took about 8 mins to dump the nand) ran 360 flash dump tool and all came back fine no FFFFFF are bad sectors .....

spud

nice one - oh and on the jaspers they have an internal memory and you should be able to still format it? (if I'm correct).........they introduced this so machines with out a HDD you can still create a profile and put your saves on before the cloud come along that is....

Easiest way is to turn the console on and check, lol.

Although nandpro20b tells me.

Can't you just look on the storage tab in the settings?

Is that what you meant oggy?

in the dashboard it would tell you...under storage matey.
