Hi guys,

Will these new xgd3 disks work on the older hitachi's, pre 78/79 as they dont seem to be affected by the dashboard updates etc, or does he need to do a new firmware for them as well in order to read these new styles

Thanks in advance

pre 78/79 has no plans for LT 2.0 acording to the c4eva speaks page only 78/79 and above and samsung but i would think thats because of the many different versions of FW and the complications that hitachi drives have presented in the past as well as what they could in the future. I guess for now its a case of wait and see mate or if you dont use live the suck it and see......

xgd3 will not work on old pre 78/79 hitachi drives

if its an unflashed/modded box wasn't microsoft doing and free exchange for a new 'S' model, think it has to have the "disk unreadable" message when reading an XDG3 original.

in the same boat guys thought you could just flash and spoof the drive to any model if you have the correct key well phat ones , don't do it if your into Live ect :drink:

it was probably only people who had registered with them and who had a live account
