Got an old 360 with a benq drive is it worth flashing?

Bought an old 360 with a benq drive that had the rrod got it replaced by microsoft and to my suprise theve left the benq in it instead of the usual replacment.
Was thinking of modding it as it just being used as a spare is it worth modding just now and if so what would be the best firmware to get for it as i havent looked into flashing ect since the bannings last year.
