Microsoft Extended Xbox360 Warranty

microsoft have finally admitted that there is a hardware problem with the 360 and as of today all xbox360 will have a free 3yr warranty.

they will also reimburse anyone who has had to pay for a console repair after the warranty was up.

im pretty sure this must include the uk consoles also

That's good news if it applies to consoles in the UK.

I'm wondering if it includes consoles that have been purchased 2nd hand and then returned for repair?

I don't see how they can get away from giving me a refund?

I sent my console back due to 3 red lights of death and paid the money to get it fixed.

They classed the console as out of waranty, and they are refunding for out of warranty boxes that have had 3 ROD

yeah it makes sense. there's a lot of people that wont buy 360s now due to the way ms have handled the red light of death probs.

if they wanna sell the elite then they've got to have a better after sales service

yeah heard this on the radio in the car drivin home basicly all consoles from launch now have 3 years warrenty and ppl who have had to pay for ms to repair will get a refund? true about release of elite plus ps3 launch

I rang in today to get mine picked up - during the wait the 'your important please hold' bit mentioned that it will take a few weeks but they will send out refunds to all who had the red light issue no need to call or owt!

If you didnt have red lights I get the feeling your not getting a refund

But the three years is only for the 3 red light issue.

A word of warning currently the repair time is 25 working days. When mine went off for repair it was only 15 days. After a phone call they then sent me a free game but I am still waiting. Console nearly a month away now.

But good of MS to do this. They have also offered to pay back the money paid by anyone for this reapir.

I would like to think that my letter of findings to them with my console contributed to this decision by MS. I did name a number of design flaws.
