Thread: Buffalo Wireless router - Forgot Password ?

Hi Somehow my mothers wireless buffalo airstation router is asking for a password and she has forgotten it, the user is ROOT, any ideas on how i can solve this looked on their site but could not find anything and tried the little reset button but still asks for password ?? Cheers

    Buffalo Wireless router - Forgot Password ?

    Hi

    Somehow my mothers wireless buffalo airstation router is asking for a password and she has forgotten it, the user is ROOT, any ideas on how i can solve this looked on their site but could not find anything and tried the little reset button but still asks for password ??

    usually if you hold the reset button in for around 30 seconds it'll factory reset it.

    Worked on a couple of different routers i've worked on, including my belkin

    default for baffalo routers is user:root pass:leave blank

    I had similar on a Linksys a little while ago. Despite pressing the reset it wasn't clearing. I had to do it like this...

    Press reset for 30 seconds.

    Pull power cord for 2 minutes.

    Press reset for 30 seconds again.

    Power up again, and press reset (30s) again.

    i have two "default" options for the Buffalo units:
    1, user:admin, Pass:admin (Terastation)
    2, user:root, Pass:admin (Base Station-g)
