Will this help with bringing back the dead boxes or is that driver or whatever it was still missing for JTAG? They seem to have full instructions, they don't seem to ship the cable though.

Sorry about the link, there is a download link on their site for BCM97346, but that is not it?

Ok, the download also contains a 120mb file named bcm7346.sdf

I don't think dirkjan73 is correct in the thread you linked to, google says the VU Solo2 has the bcm7346-chipset, not 7356. So I think this file have all the files necessary.
I found this german board when googling and they seem to think its the correct file but no one has had time to test it on a box yet.
