Creating a new thread for VU+solo2 Mini.
Please use this thread to discuss the VU+SOLO2 MINI.
Whos got one.??

Vu solo2 mini tested ok as twin tuner with BH 2.0.9 and HD 250 SSD 2.5.
Skins equal DM800SE but as good as standard Vu solo2 but no display.

Hi, had one for week now, very impressed with it so far, not a single issue running for week, recording using the dual tuners, etc, installed a 500GB hard drive, runs same as the vu solo 2 really super fast running plugins etc as we expect, build is good ,

only bad points, the heatsink could have been bigger, the fan could have been bigger, also the blue led stays on even on standby

you can control the fan speed also in standby, i have it also running on standby , have it at a slower speed then when in normal use, and its silent, i am worried for long term life of the fan as it is very small, the heatsink does get hot but that could be normal not felt the heatsink of the normal vu solo 2 so cant compare, the fan blows air out, maybe pushing downwards into heatsink might be cooler, and also you can monitor the temp just like the vu solo 2

long term dont know how reliable it is but will find that out, but overall very impressed for its price

Thanks

Got my today...Great box..same as the Solo2...nothing change only there is no display...Got openpli on it...safe image i made...Working great...But still a shitty remote what comes with it...The remote i am going to replace by the beautiful Duo2 Remote you can buy for 20 Euros....But the price of this box is verry good, today i saw on fleebay a ad of a guy in London who sells them for 129.90 Pound, cheap i think!

Actualy i think this might be the replacement for the Populaire DMM800HD/se...Because of the power and the price!!Mutch quality for not so mutch money...Lets face it,the Solo2 clone was realy a little bit overpriced, some guys in Holland sold them for 280,- Euros!!!!Criminals, they are Criminals!

Menu/setup/system/tempfancntrol Set fan speed to 1890 for on/working speed and a little lower for standby.
keep an eye on it and try to keep system temp no higher than 35 mate.If it is getting above the 35 turn fan up one notch run for a bit check again till you have it sorted.

Hi, yes i have been playing with it all week, trying to get it to spin the fastest with not much noise increase , temp doesn't go above 25c , the temp sensor is for overall temp, not cpu temp. rest of the board is cool, just the cpu heatsink feels hot and it being small,

i have fan at 2007 rpm which is fastest i can get it without much noise increase, and have it slightly spinning slower in standby

i know its system temp mate..2007 is fairly high and quite noisy for me.as i say a operating temp of less than 35 is good.mines always at or around 33-35 as i keep fan to minimum for noise reasons but i have no problems at that..2007 is fairly high but if your happy that's fine mate..the recommended speed is 1534 believe it or not but not fast enough for my box..

Hi, the vu solo 2 and mini vu solo 2 use different fans and design, so cant really compare them both , i can hear it slightly at 2007rpm but doesnt effect me when watching, and i like to get high speed as possible , prefer it runs cool as possible

also the temp sensor is below the fan so the reading probably aint accurate as it should

Thanks

Appeared solo 2 mini tuner was just too hot I turned the fan and it cools down to reach for processor fan grilles larger space from the fan printed it out a bit with my fingers from the inside out.
Now I have lowered the fan speed a bit and cools fine now:Biggrin2:

hi, that soft support this box, that driver?
only soft (image) secure? or no...

thanks

I use BH 2.0.9 Greek-mod Vu Solo2 by Kalemis backup Image, Driver is date 30.12.2013

Where can I get safe images for this box?? OpenPLI or BH 2.0.9??

I tried installing the image by the same procedure VU+ SOLO2 but the box just starts normally.

Does anyone know how to do? Is there some trick in MINI VU+ SOLO2

Flashing procedure for Vu SOlo 2 mini should be same as vu solo 2 right?

Also would images for vu solo2 work on the mini as well? or is there are compatibility issue here?

Unfortunatly There is no. display like the solo2 has,so you cant see the message "update" on it...But if you put a usb with a firmware, just push a couple of times on the round Standby button on the box you will not see it but the update shall start...And try to use a USB with some light on it,you see it blink when there is some action...

Yes all solo2 clones firmwares works on it..

updated with the rear USB port and insert the memory pen turning on the power switch and let memory pen stand in until you see the new software starting on tv

Would you know why when I use clonesafe vix images it shows blackhole initially bootlogo and then openvix? any chance of removing it?
