Hi

So I have two clones in my house, 1 went dead last weekend. The other I dont want to switch on as I know it will go straight away. Is there anything I can do to prevent the clone time bomb going off?

Thank you for your contributions in advance.

I reckon if you flash it with a earlier image youll be fine mate as far as im aware if your box is flashing from usb the drivers are not loaded to hurt anything.

Just make sure usb is freshly formatted with HP format toll and a know working earlier image is on it and inserted in the usb slot before you turn on.

Get a usb pen drive, copy an older image onto it and flash the box.

Hi Ferret,

Thanks for that. I was thinking of doing just that, but just feels very risky. I mean I have flashed images using my USB many times you know - not sure about HP format toll etc, but do you recommend I do it using this format/method you insist on or is it the same thing?

The way I go about it, is I got my image on USB, plug it in, switch on box, and start tapping that touch sensitive power button and it does the job.

Let me know what you recommend, I would like to take an experts opinion.

Thanks again.

and of course, use a clone safe image this time.

Id flash a image before December mate to be sure just flash with your normal flashing routine, can be no errors though it has to flash first time.

No expert mate dont even have a solo2 but it seems the logical step to take given all the info ive read.

Hi Mate,

Thanks. Yes, Im going to use AJT clone safe which I put onto one of my mates box. Working a charm. He uses drivers for I think Dec 2013. My only concern is, in case drivers kick in before flashing from usb begins, that will be painful.

That was why i recommended formatting the usb stick with the HP format tool, just to make sure the stick is pure.

I would flash it without any thing connected apart from the power cable.

getting people to read is hard they dont and only find out later when box has died, nice to see some can read and do whats required and dont update after you reflash.
is it possible mods can adjust thread title to a different colour or advise to read here first via redirection if they have a working box?
