VU Solo2 last for so long then reboots

hey all

i have a solo2 here and when i flash it with blackhole or open pli it only lasts for around 1 minute then it reboots?

when it is on it responds to remote commands etc without any hassle?

when i opened the box the big black heatsink had came off so i have stuck that back down with thermal paste etc incase its an overheating problem

has anyone experienced similar?

I'm wondering if it's a plugin you've maybe installed? Seem's odd. Has it ever worked properly? does it only occur with those 2 firmwares? if so it rules out an intermittent PSU. Try openvix 022 zeus

What exactly did you use to secure the heat sink? You should really use some sort of thermal adhesive or tape. The other thing to look for is if tge heat sink was rattling around maybe it's damaged something on the main board so have a look.

i used thermal paste to sort the heatsink

its working fine now!

the psu brick was too close the the box

But that's what I'm saying, thermal paste might hold the heatsink in place but it won't be securely held in place so you really need to use thermal adhesive of thermal adhesive tape.

just looked at it properly and it is an ahedsive

panic over!!

Keep an eye on it mate, only one outcome for the CPU if it runs too long without the heatsink.
