duo 2 what u think of it

just asking what do u think of the duo 2 over all its been out a bit now what problems have u had with it etc eg lcd screen pic tuners etc do u think there worth the money then coments please regards simon

Duo2 is a fine box but i did not like it.. Thought the lcd was a waste of time and having a plug and play tuner option did nothing for me as only need a dual tuner...also a bit on the big size as well. don't get me wrong it does the job brilliantly but i much prefer the Solo2.Both boxes have the same processor so speeds are the same..

Although the speed is the same,they have different CPU the Solo2 got the BCM7356 and Duo2 BCM7424 (see Wiki image) ,but i am verry happy with the Duo2,its fast and reliable,the LCD on the front i never look at it

any other members on this mater then I would be great full to see ur coments regards simon

well lets see what the new tecnomate nano dose ill go with the vu thow what u think then I think the nanos from tecnomate are clones myself might be rong

Love mine would not trade it for any other box, the spare tuner slot makes up for the poor front display.

I bought a DUO2 with the 3 tuner option fitted, recorded quite a few HD channels at the same time with no problems

there are plenty of setup options for both screens to get the best out of it.

Build quality is good (genuine VU+) and lots of support - very pleased with mine.

you are absolutely wrong the Technomate nanos are not clones...bloody good box i have one and is the fastest single tuner i have had and i have used everything...great zapping speed and menu navigation....be even better when it gets Helios.

Yes Helios 16 is on the VIX server for all the Technomate models.

I have a genuine TM Single still which is a cracking box, I think it is the same hardware as the Nano but with an internal power supply instead of a wall wart/ external PSU

Not a lot more to add mate gig ethernet etc its all in the spec.

In use it is fast very fast.

No clue on that one.I am hoping a little cheaper than solo2 as they have said its aimed at the lower/entry level scale of the market.
my hopeful Guess is £180-£190.should be out very soon.

Loving it so far and I havnt even set it up yet! lol.

Must say Im disappointed, Im an advocate of open source software, so a linux stb was ideal for me. Gutted to now have to contemplate getting the new sky box to go with my sub
