VU+ Duo red led fix

vu duo clon.

for some strange reason when managing change firmware stopped responding,
alo usb connector which does not have 5v,
this does not read usb
thereby understanding vu + duo death ....
I read some manuals,

board:








com1 null modem,





232 Adapter board ...

by manias...






putty ...






renewaes






and not achieving any Communication ...

solution?

If possible try using a windows XP pc or laptop with a real serial port. Win7 can be ifffy

Real com port ? if so im not sure what your problem is.

yes. real port pci,
I tested a dream by com1, obtaining log.
the vu + but not

plug your rs232 in go to device manager see what com port its on

I returned to test connections and are correct .....
without communication ...

Verified com1 port
com1 drivers.

And the black cable is the one supplied with the by the manufacturer with the box ?

And your running the UpdateAllFlash.exe fisrt and selecting the update file ?

Is your duo a v3 Ferrari version ?

I tested with V3.2 upd_vu62k,
renewaes.exe
vu_2ver_22m_130110_sec_isp

the black wire is vga,
the left cable com1 image
the duo was not given them any cable,
no null-modem cable, no adapter 232,
such as I have seen in pictures .... I have provided them with the situation.

the ferrari have integrated this into a square pcb,
in previous pictures of me I is integrated into the main pcb
I think that is not ferrari

I have tested it on another computer, xp, win7, win8, win98,
but no response
photo R232 adapter board,
null modem cable,
replies programs ...

any suggestions that you can run?

No not possible.

MY Duo+ is also just getting a red light and nothing else, i wasn't updating it though just gets power and not booting?

I need to fix this before the footie starts, so i just re-flash it via R232 ?

It is a hardware fault. Flashing will not resolve. Best to leave the receiver switched off until a repair is made. More damage is likely if you keep switching on/off.

Yeah I've done some more reading and it looks like a failed capacitor.
