What is openvix are these separate images to the Vix or something completely different.

What is Enigma ? Enigma is the graphical front end bult on the linux kernel to control the reciever, i.e: the menu system you use to navigate around the reciever functions. The Vu recievers run Enigma2. Originally heavily devleloped by Dream Multimedia.

- OpenPLI is a the name of a software development team that produce images for various linux recievers.
- OpenVIX is much the same another team that develop there own images, they used to be built on a lot of the same OpenPLI code base. VIX/OpenVix are the same team the open just refers to open source (linux images are built uisng open source code under the GNU agreement). Although a lot of propietary closed source drivers are used..so it's really fully "open source". The newer images are released under the OpenVIX banner..

There are various other software devleopment teams that produce images for Linux recievers. Blackhole Team is closely aligned with VU+ and probably on their payroll to produce images for VU+ recievers.
