vu solo2 ..newbie

Hi all

i,m totaly new to setting up a sat box ,could anyone tell me what software,files ect need to get it up and running
i have a motorised dish if that makes any difference

You will need an image to start with the two most popular being Blackhole and Vix, also a pre-made channel list if you dont want to scan every satellite yourself and lastly the Cams for you know what.

If you have never had an Enigma 2 receiver before then you will also need the appropriate software on your PC/Laptop to upload files you need VUCC 0.6 is nice and easy for a beginner that will allow you many different options from uploading channel lists to .ipk format files as well as telnet commands you can then move onto dreamboxedit which will allow you to transfer/change/create channel list bouquets yourself.

Probably first port of call is read as many guides on here as you can a lot can be found in the Dreambox section as well as they are all relevant.

try openvix thats what im using nice image

downloaded the following file and transfered across using vucc enigma2-plugin-extensions-tspanel_6.6_mips32el-nf.ipk
i installed it via vix/install local extension.....then the above file, i got to plugins and get the following error


''some plugins are not available:Extensions/tspanel(bad magic number in/usr/lib/enigma2/python/plugins/extensions/tspanel/_in it_.pyo)"

can anyone help please?

i,m on vix version 3.0 build 626

you dont need that plugin in fact it isn't compatable with vix 3.0 626 as far as i know

Yep the Vix boys have said it is not compatible but i know other users have got round this by installing an older version of TSpanel and upgrading it after the install

s it possible to delete channels off my vu solo2 using vucc
ie to take off adult channels or lock them so they cant been seen by kids ect , if so how?

also whats the main euro sats for football which can be reached from the uk and what channel list would i need

It would be easier to edit a pre-made list to your own liking using dreamboxedit and then uploading to your box, Say get hold of catseye or Vhannibal list and edit out all the Adult channels and then upload or do it by the remote control when in the bouquet section.

As for the footie take a look at Liveonsat and see whats on in there match wise here in the UK we can pick most stuff up but some are not in the footprint find a satellite and you can always ask to see if it is receivable here on your current setup.

another issue i have is when i select 1080p i get a flashing tv screen and it turns pink/green , i changed the hdmi lead a few times still no joy
i,m using a samsung ue46d8000 running through an pioneer slx56 amp any ideas what it could be?

I dont run exactly the same but i use to own a denon 1912 and have recently swapped to a yamaha RX673 going into a Sammy 59d6900 and have never had any problems although i dont have mine set to 1080p i just dont see the point of trying to change an interlaced picture to progressive as there is nothing broadcast at 1080p on satellite anywhere in europe, they have it in the states but nothing here so far, maybe change the settings
