I have found this tuner on the ali express site for £34.21 and there seems to be drivers for the vu solo2 on the feeds the driver has installed ok but i dont know if it will work as I haven't got it yet

Im pretty sure that this stick works with all the Vu range has been confirmed working on duo and ultimo using open atv. I have also ordered a couple from the same place. One uk store selling them for £50 I would imagine Lavaman will confirm which models this is working with.

the postage is expensive unless you use the 15 to 30 day delivery option

I asked for 2 samples with a promise of a big order if all was ok and they shipped DHL for £8

Tested and confirmed working with original Vu+ DUO, SOLO2 and DUO2 using OpenATV 4.2 and works exceptionally well with both SD and HD services, it should also in theory work with most E2 receivers running an image based on OE-A 2.3 BUT some receivers don't yet have the correct kernel support right now. Vu+ seemed most important for tested support first off given there are so many out there and no doubt crying out for DVB-T/T2/C support, especially the DUO and SOLO2 owners. The only other one I have tested and confirmed this works with is the EVO Enfinity, again works exceptionally well abit channel change on HD services with the Enfinity causes a little lag, but does still work fine, no such issues on SD services.

As you can imagine it's kind of impossible to try these with every E2 receiver as I just don't have access to them which is why we've gone with the Vu+ range first plus the Enfinity as I have access to all these, hopefully over time though we can build a list of other brands and models that work out the box so to speak, those that don't there is a potential we can make them work given time to research but can't unfortunately make any promises right now. I expect to test the original DM800 this week as the next on the list and no doubt will have chance to try others before long...

I have no real experience with Vu+ clone receivers but my understanding is they'll not be running the latest kernel version at the originals(?) so that may mean there is a chance they won't be supported with clones, but it's only a possibility, until it's tested no way of knowing for sure.

The installation to ensure the tuner is picked up is as easy as plugging it in to a spare USB port on the receiver, installing the DVBSky Family Addon (available from the OpenATV 4.2 feeds) and rebooting the receiver, once it boots back up you will now have the extra tuner available in the Tuner Configuration menu and you can switch between DVB-C and DVB-T/T2.

When testing I gave these a good 24 hour none stop test and results were perfect in that tuner was still performing fine 24 hours later and no heat issues, only as warm as most any other USB device. I also very quickly tested this with Windows Media Centre and this also picked the tuner up no problem at all and allowed DVB-T/T2 support with Freeview, tested and working fine (tested on a Samsung U350 all-in-one machine).

To be fair £49 aint that bad with uk supplyer so I have not placed my order. Will give you a bell tomoz see what trade price is.

Hi

Can you tell if this tuner able to work with CCcam/ncam for cable service?

The tuner is independent of softcams so providing the tuner is 'seen' by the receiver and available for use in the tuner configuration menu it will work equally as well with softcams as any of the built in tuners, as far as E2 is concerned it will be considered as just another tuner available for use like all the others be that for FTA reception or otherwise.

My dvbsky T330 arrived this morning I installed it set it up scanned got most channels and an epg but none of the encrypted channels are clearing I have a nline and I used mgcamd but not clearing any channels except bbc 1 / 2 which other cams work with nlines on a solo2

As mentioned above the type of tuner is totally irrelevant to working with softcams so it's a softcam issue you need to look into there, be it an incorrect setup or line that's not valid for the service you are trying to open, probably best posted in a separate thread as it's not tuner specific.

The important thing regarding the tuner setup is it's as easy as you've found, plug it in, install the DVBSky Family addon, reboot, job done!

I got it working using oscam so I will upload the oscam server config file
the file is in the downloads now

Hi edogg,

Do you have an original duo or a clone?
I have a clone using a bh image and not sure if this tuner would work.

No m8 I have a solo2 with vix Apollo only vix Apollo or openatv 4.1 and above have the drivers so a clone probably won't work

Would this not work if there was a vix image available for the clone?

You need a image with the feeds for dvbsky drivers and I think only the vix apollo has the required drivers and that is not compatible with clones I don't know if the Openatv image is compatible with clones

I just checked and there is a vix apollo 023 clone safe in the downloads so i would assume that has the drivers on the feeds and is compatible

Does anyone know if this usb cable tuner worked with any of the vu solo2 clones?

If the clone has an image above 68 it should work

If the clone has an image above 68 it should work

No I tried it with above image and latest vix, course had to swap the drivers as its a clone. So it seems you need the latest drivers for it to work.

I got the DVBsky plugin and it showed the sat and cable tuner but they were both blank could not get anything to show on them.
