Is there any other way to proceed with flash new firmware to these other than through the com port as think its nacked as done plenty of these and fails on error - think the com port pins themselves may be damaged cheers

Not as far as i am aware its either USB for standard flashing or RS232 for Bricked Flashing

Is it best to use a USB to RS323 converter or a straight RS232 for a bricked box

I have used rs232 usb converter to unbrick skybox f3 and flash boxes they work ok
